Famous Choral Composer for Festival

Alexander L’Estrange is one of Britain’s most popular living choral composers and arrangers and he is coming to Crowborough as part of the festival Singing for Joy workshops on Saturday 13 May. Full details and booking details on the website page.

Having been a chorister at New College, Oxford, under the direction of Dr Edward Higginbottom, he gained a First in Music from Merton College, Oxford, and has since carved a hugely successful and varied international career. His compositions and arrangements have received universal acclaim and he receives regular commissions from choirs and a cappella groups across the globe.

L’Estrange is a highly- accomplished jazz double bass player and pianist, choral workshop leader, musical director of musicals, presenter of children’s concerts and jazz examiner/trainer for the ABRSM. A passionate advocate for the importance of singing in schools and the wider community, he presents his music with a mixture of energy, fun and consummate musicianship that has become synonymous with his name.
